Background
The purpose of the Twinning Genetics Consortium (TGC) is to conduct meta-analyses of genome-wide association study (GWAS) data to identify genetic polymorphisms associated with the “Twinning” trait. Knowledge of these genes may identify key mechanisms controlling ovarian function and can provide a greater understanding of female fertility and infertility, the most common reproductive disorder.
This project is divided into two parts: Dizygotic (DZ) twinning and Monozygotic (MZ) twinning.
We aim here to conduct the first meta-analyses for GWAS of MZ twinning and extend our work on DZ twinning.
